Police Department

Department_patchThe Rochelle Police Department is dedicated to keeping our community safe and secure. Rochelle Police Department Members have the goal of providing high quality professional service to the public.

Rochelle "The Hub-City" is a growing community of 10,000 plus citizens that is a natural transportation hub. Our industry and commercial businesses draw additional activity to Rochelle. Two interstate highways and two major railroads intersect in Rochelle. Our airport, hospital, and travel stops provide services to both local residents and travelers.

Because of the multi-faceted nature of our community, the Police Department must train and prepare for many more varied challenges than most communities of our size. The department is comprised of 21 sworn officers, two K-9 units, nine civilian personnel, and eight crossing guards.  The Police Department provides full police services to the community 24 hours a day.
Our dispatch center serves the citizens of Rochelle with full enhanced 911 services and also serves as a back up dispatch center for the Ogle County Sheriff's Department.
