Sgt.Frankenberry and his partner Olaf are called upon, from time to time, to perform school searches. During these searches K-9 units from area departments are called upon to assist in the search.

Each year Sgt.Frankenberry and Olaf are asked to assist other agencies with school searches, often times doing as many as ten per year.

Sgt. Frankenberry organizes the searches at the Rochelle Township High School. On May 1, 2007 such a search was conducted, with the assistance of K-9 Units from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, JoDaviess County Sheriff’s Department, Ogle County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police (District 16), Dixon Police Department, Sterling Police Department, Genoa Police Department, and Freeport Police Department.

As a result of the search two arrest were made.

Below are some photos from the K-9 search conducted May 1, 2007 at the Rochelle Township High School.

Sgt.Frankenberry leads the assiting units.

Sgt.Frankenberry and Olaf search the vehicles parked at RTHS.

During the search at RTHS every vehicle in the student lot is checked by a K-9 Unit, as are the student lockers.

Here Olaf alerts on a vehicle.
The owner was subsequently charged with possession of Cannabis and Unlawful Use of Weapons.
