| The City of Rochelle and contractor Rock Road Company will begin road construction along Lincoln Hwy and Washington Street on or about July 22, 2010. This work involves the complete reconstruction of Washington Street from south of 1st Ave to north of 2nd Ave. In addition, the project will include pavement surface removal and resurfacing operations, pavement striping and other utility adjustments along Lincoln Hwy from the Union Pacific Railroad north to 5th Ave as well as 4th Ave from 6th to Main Street. Portions of the routes and intersections will be periodically closed to through traffic during the project and the public should use other alternate routes. Advance warning and detour signs and other temporary traffic control devices will be posted near the affected areas. On street parking will be periodically affected during the construction operations and alternate parking area signage will be posted at the project limits for downtown business. Further information will be released as project phases are implemented. The project is expected to be complete by October 15, 2010. The City of Rochelle appreciates the patience of the public during this critical infrastructure upgrade and maintenance project.
