| ROCHELLE, IL– As the Fourth of July nears, the City of Rochelle reminds citizens of the laws regarding Fireworks in the State of Illinois and City of Rochelle. We want this Fourth of July to be safe and fun for all! During the Independence Day celebrations, particularly at Cooper Park, Atwood Park, and Tilton School, Police Officers will be present and fireworks rules will be strictly enforced to ensure the safety of all spectators.
Any firework that explodes or launches such as firecrackers, bottle rockets, and roman candles are illegal to sell or possess in the State of Illinois to the public.
Fireworks that are considered legal in Illinois are items such as snake or glow-worms, smoke bombs, party poppers, snappers, handheld sparklers, and toy pistol caps. Retailers can sell these items without any special licensing.
