| Rochelle IL -- The community is invited to attend an Open House at City Hall on November 1, 2007 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. to welcome new General Manager of Utilities, Gary Larsen. Gary’s first day at RMU was October 9 and we would like to welcome him and his family to the City of Rochelle. The Open House will include a short program at 4:00 p.m. with Ken Alberts, City Manager, speaking. Hors d’oeurves and refreshments will be served in the Conference Center.
Gary Larsen comes to the City of Rochelle, having previously been with the City of Batavia. He and his wife, Marilyn, have two sons, a daughter, and three grandchildren. Gary has over 34 years of experience in the Utility industry having started with the City of Batavia right out of High School. Gary’s expertise both in the field and in an upper management position will surely serve Rochelle and RMU well in the near future.
The Open House will also provide an opportunity for the community to see the many recent changes and improvements to City Hall. Outside, the peaks have been refurbished and the Main Entrance has been designated as the North door inside the courtyard adjacent to Sixth Street. A reception desk has been added along with new carpet, paint, and cabinets in the reception area. Carpet has been installed in part of the Administrative area upstairs, as well as in the Lower Level Conference Center and adjacent hallways. The walls are also newly decorated with framed photographs of our community.
Please join us on November 1st to give Mr. Larsen and his family a warm welcome to the City of Rochelle!
