Bicycle Roundup Event – May 4

Bicycle Roundup Event – May 4

Have an unused bicycle you’d like to get rid of? Let us help!

What: The Rochelle Community Conservation/Recycling Committee is collecting, revitalizing, and distributing bicycles that are NOT being used by their current owner.

When: Friday, May 4 (2:30 – 5:00) and Saturday, May 5 (9:00 – 12:00)

Volunteers are needed for both collection days. Call 562-5769.

Where: Bring bicycles to the east end of Memorial Park or make arrangements for your bicycles to be picked up by calling 562-5769 and leaving your name and a phone number. This service is available only to seniors or disabled.

Why: If you are NOT using a bicycle stored in your garage or basement, let us repair the bicycle and distribute it for $5.00 – $15.00 for a child or adult to use for transportation to school or work.  Grade school student ($5.00), High School Student ($10.00), Adult ($15.00).

Cost: None. We have funding to make simple repairs for this year’s new owners. The money collected by the resale in early June will be used for repair parts in future collections.
