As many people may feel anxious about COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, the City of Rochelle is closely monitoring the situation. While there are no confirmed cases in Rochelle or Ogle County currently, we know this could change over time.
“The health and well-being of our residents and employees is our top priority,” said Mayor John Bearrows.
The City’s Leadership Team is working closely and maintain consistent communication with the Rochelle Community Hospital and Ogle County Health Department.
“Our team is working pro-actively with our partners to ensure we are prepared and taking appropriate steps to keep our residents informed,” said City Manager Jeff Fiegenschuh. “The City’s existing Emergency Management plans and procedures are in place to maintain our essential utility and emergency services.”
As of today, Illinois has 7 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our state, with no confirmed cases in Ogle County. Recommendations remain the same for everyone:
- Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay away from work, school or other people if you become sick
We will continue to work with our public health partners to provide you with the latest guidance and actions you can take to support a healthy community.
