How many people does the City of Rochelle employ?
There are approximately 165 employees. There are full-time employees, regular part-time and paid on-call fire fighters. We also hire summer employees for various departments.

What is the hiring process and when can I expect to hear back after I apply?
Resumes are reviewed on an ongoing basis. If there is a specific position that you are applying for, you should hear from us within 2-3 weeks after the position closes. Phone calls are made only to those applicants who are chosen for interviews once the applications have been reviewed by Human Resources.
Applications who are chosen for interview will begin with a phone interview. On-site interviews are then scheduled with both Human Resources and the hiring manager. ALL applicants will receive a letter regarding the status of their application at each stage.
Can I fill out an application and submit it, even if there are no open positions listed?
If there are no open positions that match an applicant’s knowledge and skills, applications are maintained for a period of 6 months. Applicants are responsible for keeping information such as contact information up-to-date.
