Welcome to the Rochelle Police Department's website. This website is designed to help you understand how the Police Department works towards its committment to improving the quality of life in our city.

Our primary goal is to continue to make the City of Rochelle a safer place to live and work, and to provide high quality professional service. We encourage community partnerships, protect the safety and well-being of our citizens, and take a proactive stance through crime prevention programs.

Rochelle "The Hub-City" is a growing community of 9,500 plus citizens and is a natural transportation hub for industry and commercial business. Two interstate highways and two major railroads intersect in Rochelle bringing additional activity to the area. Our airport, hospital, and travel stops also provide services to both local residents and travelers.

The Police Department provides full police services to the community 24 hours a day and is comprised of 18 sworn officers, one K-9 unit, seven civilian personnel, and six crossing guards. The dispatch center serves the citizens of Rochelle with full enhanced 911 services and also serves as a back up dispatch center for the Ogle County Sheriff's Department.

As of 2/2/2023, The Rochelle Police Department will now begin implementing fingerprint fees in the amount of $25.00 due at the time of service. We will only take cash payments. Payments will be waived for all Rochelle City residents, Rochelle City employees, and all local D321 and D212 School employees and student teachers. Fingerprint hours will be Monday-Thursday between the hours of 9am - 3pm.
