The City of Rochelle Street Division has announced that the winter snow emergency parking ordinance is now in effect for downtown streets and parking lots.
Beginning Thursday February 3, 2011 at 1:00 A.M., crews will begin removing snow from the downtown area and Municipal Parking lots. There is no parking allowed on the streets and Municipal parking lots in the downtown area until all snow has been removed. Parking is allowed in the south sections of Lots 3 and 8 until all streets and lots have been cleaned. Vehicles may return to street parking after snow removal operations have been completed.
Residents are asked to remove vehicles from residential city streets until crews have been able to clear snow from curb to curb. Given the extreme weather conditions many have experienced in Northern Illinois clean-up efforts may take several days to complete in some areas. Crews will be working as quickly as possible to improve road conditions to residential streets and alleys. Please try to avoid travel until conditions improve and allow extra time if you must go out.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
