Rochelle, IL – Traffic headed to the RMU Water Reclamation Department Office/Lab for the electronics recycling is now re-routed, due to the removal of the Treatment Plant Road Bridge. For residents traveling on Hwy. 251, turn onto Lakeview Drive; then turn left onto South Ninth Street and follow the signs to the Water Reclamation/Water Department entrance. Residents may also access the site via Jack Dame Road and Avenue F. After passing through the gate, follow the signs to the office/lab building. Electronics recycling drop-offs should be made at the office/laboratory between the hours of 9:30am-2:30pm.
Since May of 2012, when RMU began collecting electronics for recycling, we have collected over 12,000 pounds of recyclables, keeping a significant amount of waste out of landfills.
