City Engineer, Sam Tesreau, has announced that Jack Dame Road/1st Ave, from Avenue B north to W Rte. 38, will be shutdown to one lane or closed intermittently to through traffic beginning Monday June 6th at 7 am.
The work is necessary to construct new supplementary safety measures for the Rochelle Railroad Quiet Zone project including concrete curb medians, storm sewer improvements and associated pavement removal and replacement. Martin and Company, the City of Rochelle’s contractor, will be performing the work.
Motorists can expect delays and are advised to use an alternate route and avoid the area if possible.
All other through traffic will need to use other available north south crossings along Main Street or Washington Street.
Work is expected to be substantially complete by June 20th and is subject to weather. Advance warning, detour and other temporary traffic control devices will be posted near the affected area. Please use caution while traveling in this area and pay special attention to the advanced warning signage, road closed signage and other temporary traffic control devices within or in advance of the work zone. We appreciate your patience during this project.
