Mayor Announces Openings on City of Rochelle Boards & Commissions

Rochelle, IL — Mayor Chet Olson is seeking volunteer members for appointment to the following Boards & Commissions:

Planning & Zoning Commission (2 non-voting openings) — The Commission’s primary duties relate to the Comprehensive Plan, review of development, zoning ordinances and subdivision regulations while serving as an advisory board to the City Council. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7:00PM at City Hall.

Board of Police & Fire Commissioners (1 opening): The Commission oversees eligibility lists for police and fire appointments and appeals concerning employee disciplinary action. This term ends in July 1, 2012 at which time the member may re-apply for another term. Regular meetings are held on the second Tuesday of March, June, September, and December at 3:00PM in the Police Department.

Stormwater Advisory Commission (1 opening): The Commission acts as advisors to the City Engineer and the City Council with reference to the operation and control of storm water management matters. The Stormwater Advisory Commission meets four times annually; January, March, June, and September: the second Monday at 5:00PM. The current vacancy is for term ending July 1, 2014.
