This year, National Thank a Police Officer Day will be recognized on Saturday, September 19th in an effort to bring much needed appreciated to the men and women of law enforcement. So far in 2015, 83 law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty.
We encourage local residents and businesses to show their pride and appreciation for our officers by displaying something blue: use a blue light in your outdoor lights; tie a blue ribbon around the trees at your home; or post a message on your business sign.
The Rochelle Police Department provides full police services to the community 24 hours a day and is comprised of 19 sworn officers, two K-9 units, eleven civilian personnel, and eight crossing guards. The dispatch center serves the citizens of Rochelle with full enhanced 911 services and also serves as a back up dispatch center for the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department.
