Candidate packets for, one (1) 4-year full term Office of the Mayor and three (3) 4-year full term Council Members in the City of Rochelle are available in the City Clerk’s Office at Rochelle City Hall located at 420 N 6th Street. Petitions may be circulated as of August 28, 2018.
City residents running for office must file as if there will be a primary election involving 5 or more candidates for the Office of the Mayor and 13 or more candidates for the office of Council Member. If required, the Consolidated Primary Election will be held on February 26, 2019. If there are not 5 or more candidates for the Office of the Mayor or 13 or more candidates for the office of Council Member, there will not be a primary and the names of the candidates will be placed on the ballot for the Consolidated General Election to be held on April 2, 2019.
Notice is hereby given that the Rochelle City Clerk’s Office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on November 19, 2018, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on November 20, 2018 through November 21, 2018, and from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 26, 2018 for the purpose of accepting candidate petitions or certificates for the Consolidated Primary Election to be held February 26, 2019. City Hall will be closed November 22 and 23 for Thanksgiving.
