We’re having a Hay Day downtown Rochelle on Saturday October 13th! Our newest event runs from 11am to 5pm on Lincoln Highway and throughout the Downtown.
The family-friendly, fall event features a petting zoo, giant inflatables, tractors, face painting by the RTHS Interact Club, a magician, fall treats and more! Children are welcome to come in costume! The Flagg Rochelle Library will host pumpkin art at the event and City Hall hosts a Pumpkin Decorating Contest for school ages through adult beginning October 10th. Happy Babies will offer sensory bins and a place for feeding and changing our youngest visitors. Kids of all ages will enjoy an activity with the Ogle County 4-H Club. and the Flagg Rochelle Museum will offer s’mores!
We’ll have plenty of good food available with El Senor de los Tacos, Off the Wall and the Masonic Temple serving chili. Colonial Flowers & Gifts will host the Downtown Rochelle Association’s Cliff’s Donut sale beginning at 9am until sellout! The Flagg Township Museum will offer freshly made s’mores!
Musical entertainment will be provided by bluegrass band The Templetons – a family of ten playing old time favorites. The Rochelle Performing Arts Academy will perform at Noon and provide a Bake Sale.
Local artist, Bill Schermerhorn is creating a masterpiece in front of the Masonic Temple with various types of hay & straw. Fourty-four haybales have been decorated around Rochelle for the event! Take a drive and check them out!
