Road Closure 10th Avenue, 2nd and 3rd Street Intersection November 10th through the 17th ,2015

City Engineer, Sam Tesreau, has announced that 10th Ave, from 2nd Street to 3rd Street including the 2nd Street and 3rd Street intersections will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday November 10th at 7 am. The closure is necessary to excavate, remove and replace a portion of curb and gutter along with new hot mix asphalt pavement to complete the sewer and watermain improvements that have been ongoing over the past two months. Martin and Company, the City of Rochelle’s contractor, will be performing the work.

There will be no access to May School, School Avenue, or the Rochelle Community hospital facilities through these intersections for the duration of the project. May School and the Rochelle Middle School will be accessible from 2nd Street via McConaughy Avenue and School Avenue. Rochelle Community Hospital facilities will be accessible from 3rd Street or 2nd Street via 8th Avenue. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route and avoid the area if possible.

All other through traffic will be detoured as follows:
Northbound through traffic will be detoured from 2nd Street, west along 8th Avenue to Main Street, north along Main Street to McConaughy Avenue, east on McConaughy Avenue to 2nd Street.
Southbound through traffic will be detoured from 2nd Street, west along McConaughy Avenue to Main Street, south along Main Street to 8th Avenue, east along 8th Avenue to 2nd Street. Work is expected to be complete by November 17th and is subject to weather.

Advance warning, detour and other temporary traffic control devices will be posted near the affected area. Please use caution while traveling in this area and pay special attention to the advanced warning signage, road closed signage and other temporary traffic control devices within or in advance of the work zone. We appreciate your patience during this project.
