Rochelle Police Department Makes Arrest in Robbery

On 010316 at approximately 6:06 p.m., members of the Rochelle Police Department responded to a robbery at the Lupita Supermarket. It was reported that a male subject had asked a cashier to make change for him. When the cash register was opened, he pushed the clerk and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawer and fled from the scene.

On 012616 at approximately 10:54 p.m., Rochelle officers were dispatched to the Shell gas station (505 Hwy 38) for a similar robbery call. The clerk stated that a male brought an item up to the counter for purchase. While she was processing the transaction, the male reached into the cash drawer and took approximately $150.00 before fleeing the scene.

On 012716 after further investigation, Jorge A. Delgado, 32, of Rochelle, was arrested and charged in connection with these incidents. Mr. Delgado was charged with two counts of burglary (class 2 felony). At this time he is in custody at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.
