Veteran’s Parkway Construction Begins September 3

The Veterans Parkway reconstruction project will begin on Tuesday, September 3rd and take approximately 30-45 days. The road will be closed for approximately three weeks during that time period beginning on or about September 3 and will open approximately September 25. The project consists of removal and replacement of asphalt base and surface, installation of new asphalt shoulders, storm sewer culvert replacement, miscellaneous curb and gutter improvements and pavement markings.

Detour routes for traffic utilizing Veterans Parkway:

Traffic from North of Veterans Parkway on Rte. 251:

The detour route is south to Steward Road, east on Steward Road to Main Street, north on Main Street to Veterans Parkway.

Traffic from North of Interstate 88 on Rte. 251:

The detour route is Route 251 south to Steward Road, east on Steward Road to Main Street, north on Main Street to Veterans Parkway.

Traffic from South of Steward Rd on Rte. 251:

East on Steward Road to Main Street, north on Main Street to Veterans Parkway

Traffic from the North of Veterans Parkway on Main Street:

The detour route is south to Steward Road, west on Steward Road to Rte. 251, north on Rte. 251 to Veterans Parkway.

Traffic from the South of Veterans Parkway on Main Street:

The detour route is south to Steward Road, west on Steward Road to Rte. 251, north on Rte. 251 to Veterans Parkway.

Residents and motorist are reminded to pay special attention to the advance warning signage, posted detour routes, road closed barricades and other temporary traffic control devices within the work zone.
