With winter upon us, the City of Rochelle would like to remind residents of the odd/even parking ordinance.
Once three inches of snow have fallen, the winter storm parking ordinance will be in effect. Although we encourage residents to find off-street parking during the snow storm, street parking is permissible with certain exceptions. On even-dated days, all vehicles are to be parked on the even-numbered sides of the street. On odd-dated days, parking is permitted on the odd-numbered sides of the street until snow is cleared. Vehicles should be on the correct side of the street by 7 am.

This type of weather normally results in the highest volume of calls for the Rochelle Police Department. Calls for service will be prioritized based on their seriousness and citizens should expect delays. Most calls for service are expected to be related to motorists. Accidents involving injuries or road obstructions will take priority. Motorists involved in a minor accident without injury, where vehicles can be moved, are asked to exchange information or drive to the Rochelle Police Department for a report. If you exchange information and the roads are bad you can report the accident at a later date, within 10 days, at the Police Department and all drivers involved must be present at the time of the report.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
